Brunch at Another Broken Egg Cafe
I’ve made brunch a regular Sunday routine. I’m usually in pursuit of a new brunch spot right after church. I enjoyed brunch at Another Broken Egg Cafe in the Vintage Park Shopping District in Northwest Houston. I called in advance to see if I could make a reservation. The host suggested I use the Nowait App. I downloaded on my way to the restaurant and put my name on the list. The Nowait App allows you to put your name on a restaurants waiting list. The app puts you in line while you’re in route. Your wait can be shorter or eliminated once you arrive. We arrived and the host seated us immediately.
My mouth watered when I opened the menu. I immediately noticed the grilled Andouille sausage listed as one of the options for sides. Andouille sausage always reminds me of my roots. It’s hard to find Andouille sausage on the menu at a restaurant for brunch.
Our server asked if we wanted to try the Biscuit Beignets. Another Broken Egg Cafe features these biscuits as one of their signature items. Please don’t mistake these for actual beignets. Don’t compare these beignets to Café du Monde in New Orleans. These Biscuit Beignets give a new twist to a traditional biscuit. I would say these are more like sweet biscuits. They come with a jam to dip them in. My son can be selective when it comes to his food. He took one bite and ate the rest of them. You can order them in a half or full order.
What I ate:
I ordered coffee with a shot of express. It’s essential for my brunch. I ordered the Cinnamon Roll Beignets with grilled andouille sausage. My son tried the traditional pancakes with bacon and seasoned country potatoes.
Some other sides you can find on the menu include biscuits and gravy, city traditional and blackberry grits, baked bacon, cinnamon rolls, and more.
The cocktail menu included drinks called Apple Pie, Effen Cucumber Mary, Smokey Sriracha Mary,
You can get brunch cocktails like the Strawberry Lemonade Sparkler, Tropical Sangria, or the Peach Bellini. You can get Mimosa or Bloody Mary Pitchers from $23.99 to $27.99. They offer six flavors. I love how they remixed the original Bloody Mary and came up with four signature Bloody Mary drinks.
There’s a Spiked Nutella Ice Latte or a Spiked Salted Caramel Iced Latte for $8.49 and a Wycliff Champagne for $5.99.
You can get brunch or lunch at Another Broken Egg Cafe. They offer a seasonal menu featuring Huevos Enchiladas, Churros French Toast, Carne Asada Tater Tots, and Chorizo & Egg Taquitos. The menu also suggests a drink pairing with each seasonal item. The pairings make the meal more enjoyable in my option.
There’s only one other location for Another Broken Egg Café. It’s in Shenandoah.
The restaurant boasts its use of fresh ingredients and fresh seafood through its partnership with the Louisiana Seafood and Marketing Board.
Another Broken Egg Cafe accommodates guests with a pet friendly patio, meeting space, and Wi Fi. The price for an average meal for one and a beverage costs about $20 or less.
You know I’ll be back because I had such a great experience. If you visit, I’d like to hear about your experience. Until next time, love, peace and food.
